Kage Baker

Sadly, Kage Baker has just died of inoperable cancer.

She was best known for her time patrol series The Company , although I have to say that her fantasy novel, The Anvil of the World was my favourite! Very reminiscent of Jack Vance in places.

Her most recent paperback was The House of the Stag but she also recently contributed a story to the Songs of the Dying Earth collection set against Jack Vance’s famous background, which I intend to listen to this evening…
