Transreal Fiction

Scotland’s sf & fantasy bookstore

Location

Transreal Fiction, 46 Candlemaker Row, Edinburgh, EH1 2QE

Candlemaker Row is half a mile from Waverley Station and very close to several bus routes – 2, 23, 27, 41, 42, 45, 47 & 35 – so it’s very central and also near several of Edinburgh’s best known tourist attractions. There is also metered car parking very close by in Chambers Street.

Greyfriars Bobby – 30 yards

Greyfriars Church & churchyard – 30 yards

The Royal Scottish Museum &

The Royal Museum of Scotland – 100 yards

Magdalene Chapel – 150 yards

The Grassmarket – 150 yards – and it’s full of restaurants and pubs if you want something to eat!

Some of my neighbouring shops also have interesting stock, including the nearby comic shop and also the gallery/shop opposite

So there’s plenty in the neighbourhood to do as well as visit Transreal Fiction!

Maps

location on Google Street View (I see the pin is slightly out of position on their map; it sould be 40 yards further south, opposite Dead Head Comics)

Monday – Friday 11.00 – 18.00
Saturday 10.00 – 18.00
Sundays (August & Christmas only) 12.00 – 17.00

  1. What a great site and what great books. Thanks for all the suggestions. How good to find someone else who cares about mysterious alien artifacts and who knows who The Pretty Things are.

  2. Ah, if only I’d known you were there on my one & only, cherished & unforgettable visit to Edinburgh. You’d have had to drag me out of there with a power winch.

Next time I get across the water….

    Yours,
