Leo Frankowski
I’ve just learned that Leo Frankowski passed away on Christmas Day 3 months ago.
He was noted mainly for his Conrad Stargard (Cross Time Engineer) series about a man from 1986 Poland (iirc) who ends up back in time only a few years before the scheduled Mongol invasion… Good fun, as he struggles to develop weapons and armaments to protect himself (and the rest of the country)
His other books were also interesting – Copernick’s Rebellion and The Fata Morgana (about a mysterious floating island) especially…
Overall, a fairly minor writer within the sf&f field, but he did write fun books!

Google Street View
Picture taken last year sometime…
Google Street View of Transreal Fiction
I can’t seem to get the location to say ‘7 Cowgatehead’, 5 (which is Mr.Wood’s Fossils) is as close as I can get…
edit: if it’s not working, I give up! It should be simple (and was when I first put the shop view up) but trying to tweak it usually just results in a black screen. If you’re keen, it’s not too difficult to find it anyway…
